Traveling To Porto

Portugal undersigned the Schengen Agreement and is therefore, bound to the EU regulations of free circulation.
Located 300 kms north of Lisbon, Porto is also well connected with all European Capitals. All major Airlines fly directly to Porto: Lufthansa, Iberia, Air France, Transavia, Ryanair, Air Berlin, Luxair, as well as the evergrowing low cost airlines, such as Ryanair and Easyjet. The national airline carrier is TAP, which has offices in most European capitals and offer direct flights to Porto. Additional connections via Lisbon are eased with a permanent air bridge between the two cities.

Aeroporto Francisco Sá Carneiro, Porto

Porto's International Airport is located 11 kms away from the city centre. There is Bus Shuttle access to the city, as well as taxi and public transports, such as bus and Light-Rail. Two Railway Stations also provide 3 daily international trains to Paris via Madrid and several daily trains to Lisbon.

An awarded airport in Porto

The Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport operates with 18 airlines and 70 destinations. 6 million people are estimated to visit this airport every year, and now, with its recent and intensive renovation, this number is expected to grow and keep on taking up the role of primary travel hub for the north-western corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

The terminal’s architecture is what offers the airport the status of a modern and functional airport. The new terminal no longer operates on a single floor. For comfort and operational reasons, the installations were expanded in height, so that arrivals and departures can now take place on different levels, a measure that facilitates the usual routines for a traveller.

The enlargement aimed at increasing significantly the capacity in the public and check-in areas - those that were limited due to the traffic volume have now been increased to 60 check-in counters with the possibility of another 120 in a future expansion. Large commercial and leisure areas and other passenger facilities have been installed on a mezzanine floor.

In 2014, the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport was awarded the 3rd Best European Airport, its 8th award in 8 years.
